Courses Offered
Applications are invited from the citizen of India and native of Tamil Nadu for admission to the following courses for 2010-2011 session in Government Medical College / Self-Financing Para Medical institution coming under the purview of single window system in the state of Tamil Nadu.
1. B.Sc., (Nursing) / B.Pharm., / BPT/ BOT
2. Direct 2nd year - Lateral B.Pharm., (D.Pharm., to B.Pharm.,)
3. Post Basic B.Sc., (Nursing) (For Diploma in Nursing Candidates only)
Eligibility
Educational Qualification:-
Minimum Eligibility Plus 2 or Equivalent (10+2 pattern)
B.Sc. (Nursing) (Total aggregating marks in Science subjects & English):
For OC / BC / BCM / MBC / DC: 45%
For SC / SCA / ST: 40%
B.Pharm (Total aggregating marks in Science subjects & English):
For OC / BC / BCM / MBC / DC: 50%
For SC / SCA / St: 40%
BPT & BOT (Total aggregating marks in Science subjects & English):
All Communities: Minimum of 35% marks in each Science subject
A pass in English with minimum of 35% marks is mandatory for all categories for B.Pharm., BPT & BOT
Direct 2nd year B.Pharm Courses-
(i) All Categories except SC/SCA/ST Candidates should have aggregate of 50% marks in the first and second year D. Pharmacy Examination with a pass in HSC or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology
(Botany and Zoology) or Mathematics. (or)
The candidates should have occurred minimum Eligibility of marks prescribed for B.Pharm. for the relevant community with a pass in D.Pharm (Two years course).
(ii) SC/SCA/ST candidates should have obtained a minimum of 35% of marks in Science subjects (or)
Maths and not less than 40% aggregate marks with a pass in two year D.Pharm Course. (or)
The candidates should have occurred minimum Eligibility of marks prescribed for B.Pharm. for the relevant community with a pass in D.Pharm (Two years course).
(iii) Candidates should have completed 500/750 hours of practical training on or before 31.5.2010 and should have obtained the provisional certificate for having passed the Diploma Examination.
Post Basic B.Sc., (Nursing):-
(i) Candidates belonging to all categories should have passed Diploma in Nursing Examination with a pass in the Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary or Intermediate or 10+ 2 or an equivalent examination recognized by the University.
(ii) Candidates should have obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery and registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council.
(iii) They should have put in a minimum of two years of experience on or before 31.5.2010 as a nurse in any Government Hospital/Institution or other Hospitals subsequent to completion of the course.
(iv) Service candidates should send their application through the head of the Medical College Hospital/Institution in which they are presently working.
(v) Service candidates serving in Tamil Nadu Medical Service on a regular basis should have completed two years of continuous service as on 31.5.2010.
(vi) Candidates who are serving purely under temporary category in Tamil Nadu Medical Service will be considered for selection under open quota as non-service candidates only.

Post Basic B.Sc., (Nursing) Application Form: Rs. 350/-
Candidates can obtain the application form in person on a written requisition to the Deans / Principals of the Government Colleges listed below duly enclosing Demand Draft of Rs. 350/- for common application and Rs.100/- for Special Category application from any natlonalized bank dated not earlier than 07.06.2010 payable at Chennai in favour of "The Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai 10" towards the cost of application with
Prospectus.
The application form will be issued on all days from 07.06.2010 to 15.06.2010 upto 3.00 p.m. SC/SCAIST candidates are exempted from the payment of cost of application. They can obtain the application on written requisition duly enclosing the attested Xerox copy of the community certificate.
