  1. DEVELOPMENTS IN RING SPINNING 8

Limitation of apron-drafting in ring-spinning; constraints in ring-twisting; principle of condensed yarn spinning; comparison of different methods of condensed yarn spinning.

  1. OPEN-END SPINNING 8

Principle of open-end spinning; the advantages of open-end spinning; application of open-end spinning principle in rotor spinning and friction spinning.

  1. ROTOR SPINNING 10

Principle of operation of rotor spinning; raw material requirement; spinning preparatory processes; fibre-opening and fibre transport in rotor spinning; yarn formation; the significance of rotor size its groove; yarn withdrawal and winding; yarn structure and its properties; economics of rotor spinning.

  1. FRICTION SPINNING 7

Working principle of friction spinning machines; study of yarn formation and yarn characteristics; production of specialty yarns; fields of application for these yarns; advantages and disadvantages of friction spinning machines.

  1. APPLICATION OF FALSE-TWISTING 6

Principle of false twisting; application of false-twist principle in Dref-3, wrap spinning, air-jet spinning, PLY-Fil spinning, self-twist spinning; operating principle; strength and weakness of the above processes; analysis of the yarn structure and the characteristics.

  1. OTHER NEW SPINNING SYSTEMS 6

The basic principle of yarn formation in disc spinning, electrostatic spinning and air-vortex spinning; method of yearn production in double-rove spinning; study of Twilo spinning and Bobtex spinning processes; limitations of these new spinning systems.
